February 6, 2020

With one day to go before the start of the 2020 Peter Bakonyi World Cup of men’s épée, the host organizing committee is proud to unveil the medals to be awarded at this world class competition.

The medals were designed by host organizing committee member, retired international boccia player, and London 2012 Paralympic bronze medalist Josh Vander Vies.

The front of the medals represents points of épée blade-like motion converging into blank spaces of precise and powerful points scored. The back is a stylized homage to an overhead view of fencing pistes, in the style of pixels. This invites us to consider, perhaps fencing was the original esport.

Tickets are $20 each, for general admission over all three days Feb 7-9, available at the door or can be reserved online. Each general admission includes up to 3 accompanying children or teens under 19.
